Silver jubilee Monument

This fountain monument was built to commemorate the silver Jubilee of the reign of HRH Sultan al-Haj Abdul Halim Mu'dzzam Shah ibni Almarhum Sultan Badlishah in 1983.It is Located in Padang Court or Medan Budaya, in the middle of Alor Setar City facing several other historical building of the Town such as Zahir Mosque, State Art Gallery, the Grand Audience Hall and the former Sultan's Palace (the Royal Museum).

THE DESIGN IS INSPIRED BY THE FORM OF BUNGA RAYA OR HIBISCUS, THE NATIONAL FLOWER OF MALAYSIA WHICH SYMBOLICALLY REPRESENT THE HONOUR OF THE SULTAN IN THE EYE OF MULTIRACIAL PEOPLE OF KEDAH. AT THE TOP OF THE MONUMENT IS THE REPLICA OF THE SULTAN'S HEADGEAR OR TENGKOLOK AS A SYMBOL OF THE SULTAN'S DIGNITY AND PRIDE AS THE RULER OF THE STATE.
